The Panda is a Legendary pet introduced in the Animal Update of Grow a Garden. It was obtainable only by claiming it within the first hour after the update’s release. Due to this limited availability, the Panda is now considered unobtainable and highly sought after by collectors.
Appearance
The Panda resembles a white bear with black markings. It has:
- A black stripe running across its body,
- Black ears, feet, and a tail,
- Distinct black circles around its eyes.
The Panda also has a cute idle animation — it will sit down every ~20 seconds, adding charm to your garden.
The Panda remains one of the rarest and most beloved pets in Grow a Garden, treasured by players who were lucky enough to claim it during the limited event. Although it’s no longer obtainable, you can still expand your collection by exploring the shop to buy GAG pets and discover other unique companions that make your garden come alive.
Trait and Behavior
Every ~3 minutes, the Panda will:
- Walk to a Bamboo plant in your garden,
- Eat it and instantly sell it,
- Granting the player ~1.5x value of the Bamboo.
Even though the Panda performs the action, the player still receives the earnings.
If there’s no Bamboo available, the Panda will wander around aimlessly until it finds one.
Trivia
- The Panda was the first pet that couldn’t be obtained from an egg.
- It was a reward for celebrating 1 million active players in Grow a Garden.
- The Panda gives 0 Sheckles when sold, similar to the Cooked Owl and Bald Eagle.
- The Panda now recognizes mutations and won’t sell mutated Bamboo for the same value as normal ones (this was fixed from an earlier version).
- Its ability is similar to the Bunny’s, which also eats crops and grants Sheckles to the player.
- The Panda was only available for 1 hour after the Animal Update’s launch.
