Dealing with the Strange Events in Clan Wars…

For the last week, the free-for-all Clan Wars Arena has been subject to incidences of zombies rising up to attack the living. We’ve even received reports that members of the J Mod team have succumbed to the zombie infection and are leading the undead!

It’s not all doom and gloom, though! With the help of players, the remaining uninfected J Mods believe that they have found a cure to this zombie outbreak and they’re looking for your help to put the cure into action.

This Sunday (31st October) at 8pm, the J Mods will be meeting up for the final Alpha Base. From there, it’ll be time to bring the fight to the zombies for the ultimate showdown. The question is: will you fight with the uninfected and destroy the zombies…or will you side with the undead? The choice is yours!

We’ll be keeping you updated on the Forum thread and we’ll be giving you some extra insights via the RuneScape Facebook Page.

Good luck out there!

Crafting Guide in Runescape

Introduction

Crafting is rumoured to be a slow, useless and boring skill, but once you get into it there’s lots to do! You can make everything from pots for collecting flour to dragonhide armour for rangers. Crafting can be found all over the RuneScape world: the amulets people wear, the vials used in herblore and the Mystic Staves used by Magicians in battle. These items are all made by crafting. Please note that items shown shaded in grey (in tables below) are members only items and cannot be made or used in free (F2P) worlds.

If you are just starting out in Crafting you may want to pay a visit to Roddeck the Advisor in the building just east of the Lumbridge General Store to learn about the different kinds of crafts.

The Smithing Guide in Runescape

Introduction

Smithing is a production skill in which players make a wide variety of metal items from raw ore and purified bars of metal. It is the companion skill of Mining, which generates all of the raw materials used in Smithing.

Smelting

The first step in making your own armor or weapons, is to smelt your ore into bars. To do this, go to any one of the furnaces located in towns all over the land of Runescape. When you have the ore in your inventory, simply click on the furnace to start smelting.

Cooking Guide in Runescape

1-19:
When starting at level 1, the best thing to cook would be shrimp. Many will burn, but shrimp isn’t too expensive, and if you really wanted to, you could fish it, although I would suggest buying it because it saves time and it doesn’t really cost a lot. As you gain cooking levels, you will notice that you will burn less and less, but the levels will take longer to obtain.

If you wanted to cook something else at these levels, it’s alright, but shrimp is cheap and good pace for this level range.

20-39:
Cooking speeds up a little more here. Starting at 20, I suggest that you switch to trout since it gives more xp than shrimp, and shrimp gets significantly slower as you gain levels. You will burn trout at the beginning, and you may burn a lot, but it shouldn’t be a huge problem, seeing that trout’s not expensive either. Also, around level 30, I suggest either starting salmon with trout or stopping trout to cook salmon – just to speed things up. It shouldn’t cost you too much if you sell the cooked food back; but even if you don’t, it won’t cost you much. Continue reading “Cooking Guide in Runescape”

Some Summoning Guide in Runescape

Wolf: Yes, he’s level 1. But Howl should send any enemy packing, most notably, unfair fights. A prime example is the infamous Shadow Dungeon boss fight, with his strong skeleton and dog guards. Run to a corner, howl away his flunkies, making the fight much much easier. If they return they’ll line up behind him. Also good for Revenants

Dreadfowl: The Scrolls for the Dreadfowl can be utilized! Use them to gather in non aggressive NPCs to use chinnies or ancients spells on. Make them all in a W pattern and blast away. Pick up the loot and scroll again. This is great fun for ranging and maging. It also works as a cheap attention getter/first strike spell from a distance. It DOES mage sometimes, and can be forced to use his scroll ability if you right click and special. Very good for very mage weak creatures such as rock crabs. They’re cheap and you’ll have plenty to waste if you leveled properly.

Spirit Spider: Makes red spider eggs for herblore, those waiting around for any reason should use these

Thorny Snail: For trips with alot of good loot to carry, and inventory space can be lax (easyish monsters), a snail can be just the right guy for the job. Keep a pouch with you, and summon one when you’re close to heading back. He can hold 3 extra items for you, effectively making your inventory space 31, since he takes quite awhile to dissapear.
